If You Can Reach My Heart, You Can Keep It is the sixth book by photographer, filmmaker, and visual artist Matt Lambert. This comprehensive chronicle spans his experimental film archive from 2015 to 2025, featuring unreleased set photography, film stills, behind-the-scenes content, and ephemera documenting his practice rooted in queer history and contemporary intimacy. The book presents Lambert's work divided into chapters—including scripts, stories, performer quotes, and cult films such as Flower, Pleasure Park, Butt Muscle, Subspace, Sweat, Moan Together, and Release Me. Featured subjects include Sean Ford, Joey Mills, Angel Rivera, Billy Vega, Kaiden Ford, Christeene, Michèle Lamy, Rick Owens, and performance artists who actively co-construct the work. Designed by Studio Yukiko with visual inspiration from queer adult publications and VHS aesthetics of the 1980s and 1990s, the book establishes a dialogue between Lambert's contemporary practice and broader queer representation in print media. An introduction by Canadian author and playwright Jordan Tannahill contextualizes the archive within queer cultural history.
