Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem showcases the photographic work of Luo Yang, a Chinese photographer born in 1984. This collection documents young women across two generations—first the "Ba ling hou" (post-1980s generation) in her series Girls, then Generation Z in Youth. Through intimate portraits spanning over a decade, Luo Yang captures the physical and emotional transformations of her subjects as they navigate adulthood in rapidly changing contemporary China. Her work explores themes of femininity, identity, and individuality, offering a visual narrative of youth culture that challenges stereotypes and celebrates the diversity of her generation's experiences.
